Water Revisited

Last week I was going through my paintings that I hadn't finished and lost momentum with. This is a piece I revisited and was able to, again, feel excited about after a few hours with a paint brush and a glass of wine... Water Revisted 24" x 36" Acrylic on Canvas

My NEW easel!!!

For years I have been struggling with what I thought was a perfectly good easel.  It rocked side to side, slipped in height, was too low and, truth is, I hated it.  For Black Friday I had decided that I needed to upgrade to the Cadillac of easels....  the stain resistant oil beech, hand-cranked, giant on wheels.... Behold.......the Mabef Workshop Easel M004  (from DeSerres) Isn't she a beauty?

On My Easel Today...

Again, a little something different... Little Dancer 30" x 40" Acrylic on Canvas

Typical November Day...

Every morning I go for a walk with my 3 Jacks. It gives me a chance to relax and reflect on my upcoming day. I have thousands of 'research' photos that I have piling up in my studio.  I'm so fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. Floating Red Maple 12" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas

New Home for Autumn Web

On the weekend I was at a Christmas Show in Port Hope with 9 other amazing artisans. We had an amazing turn out. Thank you for visiting and supporting the arts!!  This is a photo of "Autumn Web" in its' new home in Whitby, Ontario.  I love how this piece ties into the existing bird motif.  Thanks for the picture, Jean :)

Back to figurative painting...

I don't know how artists concentrate on the same subjects exclusively.  I usually have at least 2 paintings on the go at any time totally unrelated to the other. At the moment, I have 5 paintings unfinished! I'm planning on revealing them at the Christmas Show this weekend, November 11th - 13th between 10am - 4pm, 5417 Country Rd #65 Life in Full Colour 30" x 15" Acrylic on Gallery Canvas
