Keeping busy... "Road to Warkworth" 12" x 12" Acrylic on Canvas $100

Reflection...

Here is another painting that I've been working on.  This is a picture of the new(ish) RBC Dexia building located at  Wellington and  Simcoe St., Toronto. Just before the Ritz -Carlton was built Seastar was working a lot at this location. I was fortunate enough to snap a photo of the reflection of the CN Tower at  the perfect time. I finally had time to paint it. I don't think one is able to see this any longer as the hotel has obscured this view... until now... "Reflection" 16" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas

From one extreme to another...

I like to paint ..... the challenging human figure and colourful carefree flowers,  then beautiful country landscapes and, lately... the city! Cause... why not? I find if I concentrate on one subject  for too long then I become bored  and forget what attracted me to it in the first place. "The Brick Works" 20" x 16" Acrylic on Board

ART in NORTHUMBERLAND

Lots of exciting things going on in the world of art in Northumberland! First of all, the Colborne Art Gallery has their Juried Art Show running now until Aug 18th.  I was there on the weekend for the Open House and met lots of very talented artists! There were 188 pieces of artwork submitted and only 55 artists were featured. I was lucky enough to be one of them!! The entire show featured only guest artists and the members of the gallery ran the event. A great idea and excellent way of getting new people into this beautiful space. I am considering becoming a member soon....  www.thecolborneartgallery.ca This weekend The Tate Gallery in Canton is celebrating THE FIRST 10, Saturday July 20th between 1pm - 4pm. Pamela Tate, the gallery owner who is also and artist, is hosting this event as a "thank you" to her many clients, family and friends. I am going for the free cookies and, of course, to see what she has been up to creatively. The show runs July 20th to August 4th.
