"Looking South in October"  SOLD!

Autumn is Too Short!

The colour of these leaves were stunning!  I'm glad I was able to see them before the wind took them away. It's a great idea to  buy a painting of fall so you can enjoy it year round :).  Hey look, this one is available...  Leaves Ablaze 36" x 24" Acrylic on Gallery Canvas

Dreary November?

It seems to me that at this time of year, November, people are depressed.  I think it's because it gets dark at 4:30, it's getting cold. Outside there is a total lack of colour!  'Tis the season to  paint adding extra unexpected bursts of bright and happy values. Funky Beats 36" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas

Craving Colour

I find on dreary days I'm in my studio craving colour.  Even when my intention is to paint a dull, somber scene  I feel compelled to use lots of warm reds and yellows. Blue Sky is on the Way 48" x 36" (Diptych, 2 @ 24" x 36")  Acrylic on Canvas

New Blog Look, New Autumn Painting!

Recently I had decided that my blog needed a new fresh look.  I was able to revise and test it last week and, hopefully, I've ironed the bugs out. What do you think?  On the weekend I was busy working on a new idea. The beautiful autumn colours  (and rain) make it easy to "waste time" in the studio.  I was up all night with this one  and very excited to see where this piece will take me.  I will post pictures when it's complete.

The Art of Giving

On Thursday October 19th, twenty-five Canadian artists generously donated their work to the Art of Giving, charity auction organized by York Region to benefit those in need in the community. Almost $10 000  was raised for the United Way Campaign.   Smoke Bush in its new setting. Thank you Crystal. Enjoy! Live Auction at Newmarket Town Hall

Art Installation at MacCoubrey Funeral Home

Congratulations to Scott MacCoubrey of MacCoubrey Funeral Home.  He and I hung these 2 hugh diptych paintings last Saturday.

Great Success at the Artist Project, 2017!

It was a lot of work and a lot of planning but it was very gratifying! There are so many wonderful people who run the show and who are working the show and who are visiting the show. Below are just a few photos I was able to take to document the night. It was a very successful event. Booth #732 Just before the action begins... I had to shuffle paintings around everyday so no 2 photos are the same... :)  Nancy L. Moore and my fabulous booth mate, Carrie  Dana, chatting up some potential buyers... On Friday they had Art Battle!! It was a very exciting evening. Thank you for all of your kind words and especially to those people who helped set up and tear down and who worked the booth! Looks like I'm doing it again next year!!!

Rotary Club of Cobourg Annual Sportsman's Night

This past Friday February 3rd was the 32nd Annual Sportsman's Night in Cobourg.  The night included wine tasting, beer tasting, dinner, auction (hundreds of items!!) and draws. It was such a great time with amazing people.  This year I was asked to be the Featured Artist . I donated a painting which was included in the live auction along with a select group of "big ticket" items including sports tickets and trips.  Below is the winner of my painting, Petra. Congrats!! Mario Pareja (President/Owner of Cobourg KIA), Petra Beker with Nancy Moore painting "Tomatoes vs. Frost"

Not Quite Naked...

I find if you take a sexy painting and name it  something like...Pillows, it takes the dirty out of it :) Pillows 12" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas (available at  The Artist Project, Toronto -  Feb. 23 - 26)

I've been busy...

Artwork Can Make a Room!

Look how this painting creates a colour pallet that the rest of the room  decorations can pull from. The pillow is also a painting! Margaret's Party 30" x 40" Acrylic on Canvas
